My husband and I bought our first English Bulldog puppies around 1999 when I took early retirement from
the State of Kansas. All our lives we have loved all animals but were totally smitten with our English Bulldogs.
When we decided we would start breeding bulldogs, we made the decision to give our dogs the best care
available and spare no expense in doing so. We made the right decision as we have very healthy animals and raise healthy puppies.
We start our puppies in the house after birth to make sure the mothers learn to take good care of their puppies. This has really paid off
as we lose very few puppies. When the puppies are up and around walking they graduate to our nursery. Our nursery, as well as our kennel,
has both heat and air for our animal’s comfort. We are USDA and Kansas Licensed. We are in good standing with AKC. All of our dogs are AKC
registered. We also belong to the Kansas Pet Professionals organization and the Missouri Pet Breeders Club.
We have three English males who have champion bloodlines. Most of our females have some champions in their
bloodlines and a couple are Champion Sired. We keep improving our quality to fit the AKC standards of our English Bulldogs.
We have puppies at different times throughout the year. Our puppies are sold with all up-to-date shots,
dewormings, and a health guarantee. When we sell a puppy, they leave with their own file, complete with health record, shot/deworm record,
pedigree of parent’s, pictures of the puppy’s Sire and Dam, baby pictures, and micro-chipped (if new owner desires this). I am very available
at all times for anyone that has a question about their puppy as they grow up. I will share what I know as other people have shared with me.
Bulldogs are a very laid back breed. They are very sociable and most really love children.
They love the attention of anyone, but are also happy to sleep away the afternoon if you are busy. Although the bulldog is not a “guard” dog,
he but will usually bark when someone comes to the door. Bulldogs need air conditioning in summer and warmth in winter so basically they are
housedogs. Because of their smashed faces, they cannot take in air like other long nosed breeds, so they can overheat and die easily if they
get too hot or stressed. They need plenty of fresh water at all times. They are “easy keepers” as they love to eat and can become obese easily
so new owners need to watch their food intake and cut back on their food when they are getting fat. They need a small amount exercise either in
the cool of the morning or evening. Watch the bulldog around water of any kind, as the bulldogs are not built to swim. They can learn to swim
but it takes a while and under strict supervision. I have a water garden, and I had one grown female that loved to swim in it, but this was
after we stayed with her until she learned.
If you decide to choose one of our puppies to be a member of your family, you will be rewarded with more love
and fun than you can imagine. A bulldog will keep you laughing with all their antics and expressions, and they will love you no matter what.
Sincerely,
Alice and Jim Delmont
